Als echte alpha - dat wil zeggen met een minzame belangstelling voor alles wat technisch is - was het een genot om te kunnen schrijven:
...[we] used a special surveying trolley, equipped with several laser scanners with GPS, to measure the entire tunnel and track systems. That way, they were able to design and create a 3D model of the complete tunnel, including gradients and transverse inclinations of the tracks themselves, as well as several train profiles. We used this modelling technique, because the tunnel itself makes a curve eastward, and when designing the escape routes, we of course did not want to have any carriages tilting over the walkway. We let a virtual train run though the virtual tunnel and calculated the tilt profiles that could be expected.
